Eirini Pigaditi *Ειρήνη Πηγαδίτη* (she/her) is a designer and project coordinator, born and raised in a maritime context in Crete.
She explores methods related to the production and transmission of practice-based research as a form of publishing. Her design research materializes in different formats of publishing gestures, such as printed and digital material, time-based media, physical displays, and reading groups. Through Autotheory, Eirini combines writing, design methods, and expanded publishing formats to create narratives exploring the relationship between the ordinary and the sublime.
Her current research looks into ancestral female maritime narratives, stemming from her encounter with Buratinas Captains, a female community around a solar-powered boat made of 6mm plywood.
Next to her research-based practice, Eirini occasionally takes on selected print and digital projects and looks into methodologies for sustainability and systems of care within the field of design practice and the creative industries. Her design work includes research & consultancy, visual identities, webdesign, textile, vinyl, editorial (catalogs, reports, proposals), presentations, for creative and academic authors. She incorporates capitalist and alternative strategies into her economic framework to support NPOs, students, and individual projects that promote social change, gender equality, anti-racism, intersectionality.
Eirini holds an MFA Graphic Design and an MRes in Art&Design.
In Brussels, she is affiliated with N0dine and the artists cooperative Level Five.
In Amsterdam, she has closely worked with AgaLab, WOW Amsterdam and Mediamatic, as a coordinator for open studios, workshops, exhibitions and events.
Eirini is available for collaborations, workshops and guest tutoring.
